When there were backgrounds, the buildings and other things were drawn realistically and looked good. Everything (except boobs on certain characters) is drawn in the right proportions as well, so that makes the art nice to look at.

The drawings are pretty and often cute as well (cute dinosaurs!). The story was mostly told through the text, instead of through both. The text/art balance wasn't very good, as the text often changes font size as well (lots of times within the same page too!). Sometimes, the text balloons are also too close to the inside spine, so you can't read everything. On some pages there's a lot of text, on other pages there isn't that much text.

It is rated 16+ for boob drawings, but the focus of the story was on the world-travelling, which is why I still liked it.
MAGICAL SHOPPING ARCADE ABENOBASHI SERIES
Except for the Gundam-world (about which I found a Bookcrossing manga last year), I didn't recognize any of the series the worlds were based on, but they were enjoyable to read about (for example, Edo Japan, a jungle with dinosaurs, a high school, or a space ship).

When her grandfather, protesting the redevelopment, breaks the guardian statue protecting the shopping center, Sasshi and Arumi are sent to other Abenobashi-worlds based on the anime series Sasshi likes. As a result, Arumi (whose family works in Abenobashi) will soon be moving to Hokkaido (the Northernmost island of Japan. Sasshi's anime merchandise collection was still at their store, but it was demolished when he was away and not everything was taken out.Īpparently this comic is based on an animated series, which I haven't seen, but it's possible to read and understand this without any prior knowledge.Īrumi (the girl) and Sasshi (the boy) live in Abenobashi (a part of Osaka) and the shopping arcade where they live, is going to be demolished. All we really need is a fit body and some fresh air." It doesn't matter what they say humans WANT. Sasshi: "Not here! Not here! Not here! Not here! Not there! Ain't here?!! Where is it?! What happened to my collection?!!"Īrumi: "Come on, Sasshi! You can dig all the way through, it still ain't gonna be there! It's not that big a deal. Sasshi and Arumi are looking through the ruins of a demolished store.

However, when his section of the city is leveled, a portal to parallel universes is cracked wide open, hurling Sasshi and Arumi into strange worlds reminiscent of your favorite manga and anime! His best gal pal, Arumi, is about to move away, and adding insult to injury, his neighborhood is being demolished in the name of urban renewal. Sasshi and Arumi travel through many parallel worlds based on the anime series Sasshi likes, trying to get back to their original world. Recommended: Yes, if it sounds interesting to you.
